MediSked Connect User Group Leadership Award: Jennifer Thomas
This past Friday, we had the pleasure of visiting this quarter’s user group leadership award recipient, Jennifer Thomas from Phoenix Frontier, Inc located in Buffalo, NY. This award is given to a MediSked Connect user that exhibits expertise in the system and leverages it to make it more effective for their agency and the users at their agency. While we were there to present the award, Jennifer also gave us a great tour of their facility and their employment program.

Here is what Jennifer’s colleagues had to say about her:
Assistant to the Director, Jennifer Thomas, was the first to recognize the potential of MediSked for Phoenix Frontier. She took on the challenge of an enormous amount of work in addition to her normal responsibilities; adding schedules and services. Jen even found ways to innovate with different features of the system to do monthly summaries, track consumer progress and create easily accessed data bases for use in emergency situations. Jen found ways to facilitate the writing of service notes in MediSked so that the notes can be done more quickly. Even now she is continuing to explore additional uses for MediSked, most recently utilizing data fields in the system to create the narrative sections of our bi-annual consumer case reviews.

Jennifer Thomas was instrumental in getting MediSked off the ground, hers was the first department,( Pre Vocational Services), in the agency to enter consumer data, set up services, staff schedules and implement MediSked. After Jen has figured out how the systems worked she trained the other department staff how to do it. Jen has been the leader in the agency pushing MediSked systems forward while being creative with the system and push its usefulness for the agency. Most recently she implemented new information in MediSked so reports would come out to the format needed for the state requirements. We are very lucky to have Jen on our team.
