MediSked has an incredible Advisor Council formed of leaders in the industry who bring a variety of knowledge from the field. The members of the MediSked Advisor Council plays an important role in our strategic direction, as MediSked leads technology to move the human services world forward. Since its founding, council members have provided guidance, input, and recommendations on organizational, ethical, and operational direction for the company.
Meet our amazing Advisor Council Members:
Dr. Tom Pomeranz is a nationally recognized authority, trainer, clinician and consultant in the field of services for people with disabilities. Over the last 50 years, Tom has conducted thousands of seminars and programs throughout the United States and Canada. He is the highly-acclaimed creator of Universal Lifestiles, which teaches strategies promoting community participation and supporting people to have a quality life. Additionally, he is noted for his innovative approach to leadership and management training.
Kathy Brown has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for almost 40 years. She is the Director of Development for Pharmacy Alternatives, a pharmacy that provides pharmacy services and medications systems exclusively for the IDD population, with an emphasis on self-administration of medication. She is a regular attendee of DDNA (Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association) conferences and has presented at several national conferences. Kathy helped start the Northern Illinois DDNA Chapter and continues to serve as its president. She helped craft legislation for medication delegation in Illinois and has trained hundreds of nurses on the topic.
Joyce Steel is the Director of Family Advocacy at Starbridge, an organization that is uniquely positioned to facilitate education, community living, employment, and community inclusion for people with disabilities, and the co-founder of In the Driver’s Seat, a self-direction organization. In 1987 Joyce co-founded the Brain Injury Association of Greater Rochester and served as Executive Director. During her almost 40 years in the field, Joyce developed support groups, education, and training programs that included workshops, conferences and inclusive recreational opportunities and authored the first (OPWDD) Family Support grant in New York State.
Donna Catalano is the newest addition to the MediSked Advisor Council. Catalano most recently founded Eastlake Solutions, an organization that provides project management consulting and training to nonprofit organizations. Catalano previously served as the Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer at Search, Inc. in Chicago, Ill. Catalano’s strong operations and service delivery experience is supplemented by an extensive working knowledge of state and federal regulations governing community-based services for adults with intellectual disabilities. For over 18 years Catalano served as a part-time surveyor for the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
